Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers, including the ones that don't flatter us.

Do you only do these three things?

Yes — frameless showers, glass railings, and wine cellar glass. It's a deliberate choice. A shop that does everything is average at all of it; we'd rather be the people you call specifically because it's one of these three.

When should I bring you into a project?

Earlier than most people do. Glass is measured after finishes are in, but decisions made months before that — where a shower door swings, whether a stair can carry a guard load, whether a cellar can be sealed and cooled — determine what's possible. A conversation at the design stage costs nothing and prevents the expensive surprise.

Do you work with builders, architects and designers?

Yes, and it's usually the smoothest way to run a project. If you have a designer or GC, bring us in alongside them — we'd rather coordinate the detail before fabrication than solve it on site.

How long does the whole process take?

It runs: site measurement after finishes → fabrication → installation. Some orders install in 24–48 hours — stock sizes, a single replacement panel, hardware work. A custom enclosure cut to your room takes longer, because the glass is cut, polished and tempered before it ships, and none of that can be rushed without risking the panel. Fabrication time also depends on the glass, coatings and hardware you choose. We'll give you a real date once we've measured, not a number invented to win the job.

Why is custom glass more expensive than what I see online?

A kit is made to a standard size and expects a square opening. Custom glass is cut to the room you actually have, and it can't be trimmed afterwards — every hole and edge is finished before tempering, so the measurement has to be right the first time. You're paying for the measurement and the fabrication, not the glass.

Is tempered glass safe?

Tempered glass is required by code for these applications precisely because of how it behaves. It's several times stronger than ordinary glass, and if it does break it fragments into small blunt pieces rather than shards. For guards where a fall is possible, laminated-tempered glass adds an interlayer that holds the panel together even when broken.

How do I keep it looking new?

Squeegee the shower after use — that single habit prevents most mineral spotting. Everything else cleans with ordinary glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads and anything ammonia-heavy on coated glass. A protective coating makes maintenance easier; it doesn't replace it.

Do you serve my area?

We work within about 30 miles of Atlanta — Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell, Johns Creek, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Vinings, East Cobb, Marietta, Decatur, Peachtree City and Cumming among them. We keep the radius honest rather than long: this trade travels twice, once to template and once to install, and we'd rather do that properly than stretch. If you're just outside it, ask anyway — the answer depends on the project.
